Cast Your Kernel
Helena also came up with a “Cast Your Kernel” poll in which visitors to the fair booth could place three corn kernels in seven jars marked with top issues. The question posted was “What top three issues matter most to you?” The seven issues available in order of how they scored, least to most, were:
7: Morality
6: Pro-Life Issues
5: Education
4: National Security
3: Mental Health
2: Economy
1: Immigration
Civics Contest
The Fair Committee hit one out of the park this year with the Civics Contest. The kids really did learn some civics, and the Live Stage event was a success. Jacob Taylor was a terrific emcee and Joyce White rounded up excellent pizza prizes for the top five finishers in the quizzes for both age groups. We think the event is likely to grow next year!
